Undergraduate Specializations:
The Management Department offers courses and experience to students who want careers in management
and who
want to take on major challenges and responsibilities in private, public and not-for-profit organizations, large or
small. To pursue a specialization in Management, students will take Management 101 and
at least two courses from a “core” group to ensure a solid foundation in management.
An additional two credit units of Management electives are also required to fulfill the
specialization in Management.
Management 101 is a prerequisite for all of the core courses and subsequent electives.
A field application project (FAP) and/or an independent study project if sponsored by a Management faculty
member can count toward the electives. The core courses are:

Strategic Management Sub-specialization in Strategic Management To pursue this sub-specialization, students will take MGMT 223, Business Strategy and Policy, one additional core course, and two CUs of additional electives. Elective courses satisfying the requirements of the Strategic Management sub-specialization include: Mgmt. 211 Competitive Strategy
Multinational Management To pursue this sub-specialization, students will take MGMT 111, one additional core course, and two CUs of additional electives. Elective courses satisfying the Multinational Management sub-specialization include: Mgmt. 205 Multinational Corporate Strategies Organizational Effectiveness Sub-specialization in Organizational Effectiveness To pursue a sub-specialization in this area, students will take MGMT 104 and MGMT 238 and two CUs of additional electives. Elective courses satisfying the requirements of this sub-specialization include: Mgmt. 239 Organization Design Entrepreneurship & Innovation Sub-specialization in Entrepreneurship & Innovation A sub-specialization in Entrepreneurship & Innovation (new in 2009-2010) is intended to complement course work completed in a primary specialization and provide a diverse set of options for students to hone their entrepreneurial skills. Entrepreneurship & Innovation cannot be a student’s only specialization at Wharton; students must have declared a primary specialization.
