Biographical Sketch Linda M. Cohen received her Ph.D. in Strategy, with architecture degrees from McGill University, and an interdisciplinary M.S. degree combining design, management, real estate, and organizational behavior from Cornell University, where she examined trends in facility strategies during mergers and acquisitions. For more than fifteen years she has been exploring how planned environments affect business and social processes, and how organizations can use corporate real estate as a strategic tool for achieving business objectives and competitive advantage. She has made presentations to management, facility management, and design audiences, and has received a number of honors and awards. Linda’s core research is enriched by her functional expertise in strategic design/architecture, and is grounded in practical experience in both the public and private sectors helping organizations use their physical assets strategically. Her research and teaching also benefit from first-hand knowledge of other areas explored in management research, such as working in international contexts (Canada, U.S., France & England), working with top executives/board members, cross-organizational teamwork, leading diverse groups without formal authority, and entrepreneurship. In addition to practice as a registered architect, her work experience includes strategic planning, project management, social science research, teaching, and freelance photography. ![]()
